Dr. Shankland evaluates countless patients from North America and many foreign countries each year. For many, he simply performs an extensive physical examination, determines the actual diagnosis, and consults with the patient. Often, he can refer the patient back to an appropriate doctor in the patient's home area. |
| |
Other patients require definitive treatment from Dr. Shankland and his staff. When this is the case, and a patient travels by car for more than three (3) hours or flies into Columbus, the patient is encouraged to spend at least three (3) nights in Columbus. |

We have information concerning several hotels near our office who not only provide transportation to and from the airport, but also transportation to and from Dr. Shankland's office and in and around the Columbus area. These hotels also give a discount to patients visiting Dr. Shankland. |

Please do not call our office asking about specific problems or expecting a phone consultation. It would be both illegal and unethical for Dr. Shankland to attempt to make a diagnosis without first performing a thorough examination. |
| |
Due to the large volume of phone calls which we receive every day (every hour!), we can't and won't provide specific information about pain disorders. Unless a physical examination is conducted, it wouldn't be fair or proper for Dr. Shankland to comment on your particular problems). Thank you for your understanding. |
